Simple words cannot describe this man
that I hold so close and dear to my heart. In a world where some people only see black and white,
he made sure his children were given an equal start.
A far cry from the country boy
that ripped and ran with his siblings in the south.
He had a life plan and pursued his education
so his children would never have to go without.
The rock that I stand on,
Nothing short of a blessing from day to day,
Through him I know that if I put God at the head of my life
there is nothing that will stand in my way.
He was superman because he came home every night.
Was there to tuck his kids in tight,
and made sure their future was secured right.
Thank you Superman, Thank you Dad.
He voluntarily was there to pick up the slack.
Where Mommy and Daddy fell short and where only God’s grace could fall,
He understood what some people still can’t begin to comprehend.
That a child’s love can be the strongest drug of all.
Turning in his bachelor pad for a baby Bag,
He stepped up to the plate and answered the call.
A man in every sense of the word.
A role model no matter to a boy or girl.
A lover not a fighting man.
So it’s him and small fry against the world!
He was superman because he came home every night
Was there to tuck his child in tight,
and made sure his future was secured right.
Thank you Superman, Thank you Uncle
He was young and struggling when he had you.
But that never stopped him from loving you any less.
Though he and your mother just couldn’t get things worked out together,
he still vowed to always give you his best.
Bouncing in and out of the court system.
Financially robbing him check to check.
But if you ever need him he’s right there for you.
Helping to guide you and commanding that love and respect.
He was superman because he came home every night
Was there to tuck his kids in tight,
and made sure their future was secured right.
Thank you Superman, Thank you Daddy.
Dedicated to all the Super Fathers out there. Happy Fathers Day!
