I always thought that he would be someone to complete me.
The other half of what I was missing…
Someone who would bring to the table what I THOUGHT I lacked.
Never did it cross my mind that he would be a reflection of me.
Not another half but the flips side of who I am.
The male version - Double standards and all.
We have the same understanding. The same perspective.
The same open mind and open heartedness.
The same freakiness and the same drive
Sharing that “all day and all night” thirst for satisfaction.
Yet the willingness to indulge in the enjoyment of satisfying each other’s needs…
Thus fulfilling our own.
To know him, all I had to do was to look within in me
Understanding who I am and what that makes him
I feel as close to his heart as he does to mine
With an understanding that life isn’t perfect and neither are we.
Our lives parallel on unimaginable identical planes
The physical connection is just as amazing as the mental continuity
Knowing our circumstances and without even saying the words
We both acknowledge there is more between us than what we will admit.
Understanding our pasts and excepting the fact that we will share a part in each other’s future.
Not the man of my dreams but the man who changed those dreams.
He makes me willing to push the limits of understanding me.
And whether or not this connection befalls into a permanent union
I thank God for the interpretation of me in this beautiful being that I can only describe as…
